Good to Know
Answers to the questions new runners ask most.
When and where do you meet?
Every Saturday morning, we start at 7:30 AM and finish around 8:30 AM. The location changes from week to week to explore various communities mostly on the eastern side of the Lehigh Valley. Examples: Bethlehem, Palmer Township, Easton, Stockertown, Hellertown, etc.
How many people usually show up?
On a typical Saturday there are about 25 to 40 people.
Do you run/walk all year?
Yes, rain, shine or snow. For safety purposes, a Saturday event may be cancelled if there is lightning.
How far and what pace do people go?
Pace and distance are left up to the individual. The BCR group is wonderfully mixed. We have runners who train hard and win their age groups, recreational runners, people brand new to running who are just finding their stride, and walkers who'd rather take it easy. Whatever kind of runner (or walker) you are, you'll fit right in.
How do I find out where this week's run is?
We post the location for the upcoming Saturday early in the week — typically Monday or Tuesday. Just check out the BCR Facebook page or our bcrlv.com home page and you'll see where to meet.
How do I get there?
Each week's posted run includes the meeting venue for that Saturday, address, directions and any helpful parking notes.
Will I get left behind?
Nope — nobody gets left behind. When the run starts, smaller groups naturally form, and there's almost always someone going your pace. Run/walk with a group or run/walk on your own; either is perfectly customary here.
Is there a fee? Do I need to sign up?
No fee, no registration, no membership. Just show up whenever you'd like. It's that simple.
Who's welcome?
Everyone is welcome to join us. Everyone! Regardless of age or ability — that's not just a slogan, it's how we actually run things. Start, Finish, and Have Fun!
